Mini turns sixty this year. That's right, 60! And it's still going strong. There have been many twists and turns in the history of the mini car but it is testament to the ingenuity and design instigated all those years ago that the humble Mini is still with us today and going from strength to strength.

Limited Edition Cooper S
To celebrate their 60th birthday Mini will be releasing a limited run Cooper S - the "Mini 60 Years Edition". In honour of the original Mini the design has been inspired by the original British Motor Company Mini of the late fifties and early sixties.
Retro Style & Class
Don't worry though as the throw back design features are purely cosmetic and the car boasts the modern day Mini chassis and engine. This 60 Years edition oozes retro style and class. Among the unique features on offer are a unique British Racing Green colour unavailable on any other model.
Design Features
You will also discover front mounted rally style spotlights, (a nod to Monte Carlo and the racing days), retro indicator housings, high contrast black wing mirrors and roof, 17 inch alloys and go-faster bonnet stripes. The look is completed by with an all round front and back LED lighting system.

Options Available
The retro edition will be available in both three door and five door models. Additional colours will be available too - not just the race green as pictured here. The inside of the car looks great with brown leather and contrast stitching. The 60-year logo has been tastefully incorporated into the steering wheel and headrests. There's even a bit of modern wizardry with LED puddle lamps displaying the logo on the ground when the driver's door is opened.
Limited Availability
You will be able to choose from four different engines - two petrol and two diesel but it comes with a hefty price tag. If you want one of these beauties you will have to be prepared to part with the guts of £30k. That is almost £9k more than the standard Cooper S. They will be available in the UK from March, but interest appears high already so don't sit around - only 500 models will be manufactured.
